Making it easier for you and the Association
Hey Sanctuary Neighbors,
We wanted to take a moment to share something the Board will be discussing—moving the Annual Meeting of the Membership from June to January.
Why?
Well, for the past three years, we haven’t been able to hold elections or votes because we’ve failed to reach quorum. And while dips in participation happen, this seems to be more than just a fluke—it’s a trend.
We’re hoping that shifting the meeting to January will make it easier for more residents to participate. Plus, this move would also allow us to align our fiscal year with industry standards, meaning budget planning would happen in Q4, and the new budget would kick off in Q1. Furthermore, this would ensure that our new Association Management partner has adequate time to review our current budget and operations accounts, reserves, and associated studies, resulting in a budget that is developed by our new management partner. It’s a small change, but one that could make a big difference in keeping our finances running smoothly.
Less is More!
Another thing we’re considering? Scaling back Board meetings from monthly to every other month, and eventually to quarterly. The goal isn’t to cut back on transparency but to make meetings more focused, efficient, and productive.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on these ideas! Nothing is set in stone yet, but we want to make sure any changes we make are in the best interest of the community.
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, we appreciate your input and involvement!
